After close inspection in the village, we found that the drinking water intake had high amounts of fluorine, which was adversely affecting the health of school children and staff. They did not have access to purified water.
To address this, we handed over an RO water purifier capable of fetching 10 liters of purified water per hour to the school in the first week of August 2017. We also provided school kits to the children, including notebooks and stationery. In addition, we met with the Mandal Educational Officer and Village Panchayat members to discuss the development of the school.
Friendship Day Celebrations and a Career Development and Planning session were conducted to guide the students on how to continue their education and explore various career opportunities. For the academic year 2018–2019, we distributed recycled notebooks to the children in association with VNRSF.
We also conducted an interactive session to educate them on the importance of education, creating awareness about the environment, the benefits of using recycled books, and the need to use natural resources efficiently.
